The first client went with a layered bob at shoulder length. Short layers beside the face lightly frame the cheeks, and the ends flick outward so the eye travels down to the neckline instead of stopping at the cheeks. She has a lot of hair, and the layers take out enough bulk that the bob doesn't feel heavy.
The second client has a short bob that ends near the jawline. Keeping the length just above the jawline makes the face look shorter, which brings out a cute, youthful look. We tucked the ends slightly inward so the line doesn't drop like a heavy blunt edge.
For both, the bangs cover the forehead but are thinned at the brow line so they don't feel heavy. A quick tip on layered bob vs. classic bob: the difference is layers. ③ Result — Two Bobs
Thanks to the layers, the first client's bob has movement at the ends, and the side layers wrap the cheek line so her face looks noticeably slimmer. The second client's bob line sits above the jaw and brings out a bright, cute impression.
With a bob, blow-drying makes the result. After washing, dry the roots completely, then shape only the ends with a round brush or your hands, outward for a layered bob and inward for a classic bob, and you'll get close to how it looked leaving the salon. A bob loses its shape quickly as it grows, so we recommend trimming the ends every 6–8 weeks.
